Kruzer: Automating Transport Operations with End-to-End Digital Logistics Solution

About The Project
Boopro Technology partnered with Kruzer Logistics to design and develop a custom operations platform that automates the full transport workflow, from order intake to invoice generation. Kruzer's team was managing orders through email and spreadsheets, with route and toll calculations handled manually in external tools and no centralized way to track cost, documentation, or performance.
The platform digitizes the entire operational chain: order intake, route and cost calculation via direct TLN Planner integration, digital CMR document handling, driver and subcontractor job costing, and automated invoice generation, giving Kruzer a single system of record from planning through billing.

Scope
- Order Management: Centralized order intake replacing manual email and spreadsheet-based entry, with full visibility into current and historical orders.
- Route & Cost Calculation: Direct integration with TLN Planner for automated route segmentation (Export, Empty, Import) and toll cost calculation.
- Digital CMR Documentation: Photo-based CMR upload and management, replacing inconsistent paper and photo-based document handling.
- Job Costing: Automated cost calculation for driver and subcontractor assignments, including fuel, tolls, per-kilometer pricing, and equipment charges.
- Automated Invoicing: Invoice generation pulled directly from order details, CMR data, and route/cost breakdowns.
- Operational Reporting: Centralized data enabling performance analysis by route, truck, driver, and time period.
Approach & Solution
Technical Strategy: We built the platform on a Node.js and React.js stack backed by PostgreSQL, designed around Kruzer's real operational sequence, order, route, cost, document, invoice, rather than forcing their workflow into a generic system. The TLN Planner integration sits at the core of the architecture, feeding route and toll data directly into job costing without manual lookups.
Core Solution: The platform combines automated order-to-invoice workflows, real-time TLN Planner route and toll calculation, structured CMR document capture, and a job costing engine that accounts for drivers, subcontractors, and equipment. Together, these replace six previously manual, error-prone processes with one connected operational system.
Outcome
- Unified Operations: Orders, route costing, documentation, and invoicing now run through a single platform instead of email, spreadsheets, and external tools.
- Accurate Route Costing: Direct TLN Planner integration removes manual lookup errors from toll and route calculations.
- Reliable Documentation: CMR photo uploads are captured and stored systematically, with no dependency on paper records.
- Faster Invoicing: Invoices are generated directly from completed route and job data, cutting the manual assembly work that previously delayed billing.
- Operational Visibility: Centralized reporting gives Kruzer performance data by route, truck, and driver for the first time.
- Rapid Delivery: A stable production platform, fully integrated with TLN Planner, was delivered in eight weeks.

Business Impact
- Reduced Administrative Load: Automating order entry, costing, and invoicing significantly cut the manual work previously spread across spreadsheets and external tools.
- Fewer Invoicing Errors: Generating invoices directly from route and job data reduces the errors introduced by manual formatting and data gathering.
- Better Cost Control: Automated job costing across drivers, subcontractors, and equipment gives Kruzer accurate, consistent pricing on every route.
- Data-Driven Decisions: Centralized performance data by route, truck, and driver supports more informed operational and pricing decisions.
- Faster Cash Flow: Streamlined invoicing shortens the time between job completion and billing.
- Scalable Foundation: The platform's architecture supports additional integrations and reporting as Kruzer's operations grow.
Responsibilities
- Backend Team: Developed the Node.js API architecture, including the TLN Planner integration for route and toll calculation, job costing logic for drivers and subcontractors, automated invoice generation, and PostgreSQL-based data persistence with structured reporting.
- Frontend Team: Built responsive React.js interfaces covering order management, CMR photo upload and document handling, job costing views, and operational reporting dashboards — designed for daily use by dispatch and operations staff.
